Job summary
Gator Transport Group in Largo, FL is seeking a Diesel Truck Mechanic Apprentice who is eager to learn and take direction from our lead mechanic. You will gain hands-on experience with heavy trucks, hydraulics, air brakes, A/C, diesel engines, drive trains and electrical systems on 2021+ Peterbilt models.
The role requires a strong work ethic, ability to work outdoors in all weather, a valid driver’s license, and occasional travel.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of proven diesel mechanics experience.
- Experience with Cummins diagnostic and repairs.
- Standard preventative maintenance on heavy duty trucks.
Responsibilities
- Perform Cummins diagnostics and repairs.
- Conduct standard preventative maintenance on heavy duty trucks.
- Repair and modify hydraulic systems and components.
- Complete brake and tire jobs.
- Repair drive trains, electrical systems, A/C and pneumatics.
- Assist in reviewing mechanical write-ups and coordinating repair schedules.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and complete necessary repairs promptly.
- Prepare reports, work orders, order parts, and perform related duties.
- Operate and maintain the service truck.
