Job summary

Heniff Transportation Systems is seeking a Diesel Truck Mechanic to diagnose and repair tractor and trailer units at our Kingsport, TN facility. This role performs 90-day vehicle inspections and HM inspections to ensure FHWA compliance and safety across our DOT-regulated fleet.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, own tools, and be proficient in English. The job requires physical fitness to handle heavy equipment and work in a shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Experience using inspection and test equipment for cargo tank inspections.
• Must have own tools.
• Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair tractors and trailers.
• Perform annual/systematic 90-day inspections to meet FHWA standards.
• Adhere to OSHA and environmental policies for hazardous wastes.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
