Job summary

XPO is seeking a Trailer Mechanic to perform routine maintenance on heavy trailers and related equipment. You will inspect, repair, and rebuild components while ensuring compliance with DOT, EPA and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• 1 year of verifiable experience in heavy-duty maintenance or entry-level technician role.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Able to perform safety inspections and prepare safety documentation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Available for days, evenings, nights and weekends.
• Brake inspection qualified per FMCSA regulations 369.25.
• Vehicle inspection qualified per FMCSA regulations 369.19.
• Basic hand tools required for heavy-duty trailer maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on trailing equipment per manufacturer, DOT and company schedules.
• Access all areas of equipment to perform maintenance, including inspecting and working on trailers.
• Repair or rebuild all or part of equipment systems.
• Follow DOT, EPA, OSHA and other rules and regulations.
• Maintain proficiency in equipment and technologies to boost productivity.
• Move trailers and operate a hostler in various conditions.
• Enter job times and parts on repair orders to track activity.
• Use specialized tooling and vehicles for repairs.
• Keep the work area clean, safe and organized.
• Interact with operations and shop management.
