Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in tractor systems repairs or 1 year as a 'B' mechanic.
• Diesel technology certification or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read and write.
• Ability to use technical and service manuals.
• Proficient with hand tools, air tools and specialty diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot diesel systems.
• Professional communication with coworkers and drivers.
• Familiarity with diesel engines and related systems.
• Able to operate a semi-tractor with CDL and clean driving record.
• Able to lift over 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems on diesel tractors.
• Document completed repairs on a work order.
• Operate tractor and move it into the shop; park equipment after repairs.
• Provide customer service by advising drivers on technical questions.
• Maintain clean work area and manage tools.
• Procure parts from parts room.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Train less experienced mechanics.
