Job summary

Werner Enterprises Inc in the United States seeks an experienced diesel mechanic to diagnose and repair diesel tractors, including engine, transmission, axles, brakes, and HVAC systems.

You will use advanced hand tools and diagnostic meters, document repairs on work orders, and communicate with drivers on technical questions. A valid CDL and 2+ years of tractor-repair experience are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in tractor systems repairs or 1 year as a "B" mechanic.
• Certification in diesel technology or equivalent experience.
• Ability to Read and Write; use technical and service manuals.
• Possess a valid driver license or commercial drivers license and have a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems on diesel tractors as indicated on work orders or discovered during inspection.
• Repairs will be made to engine and transmission components, electrical systems, and related parts as listed in the job description.
• Document completed repairs on a work order and operate the tractor into the shop.
• Provide customer service by advising drivers on technical questions; maintain a clean work area and procure parts.
