Trailer Equipment, Inc. is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join the Service Department in Byron Center, Michigan. This position involves inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on trailers with a focus on safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Experience with ABS, air brakes, and trailer electrical systems.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• FHWA and DOT inspection experience.
• Trailer alignment and frame repair experience.
• Refrigerated trailer repair experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections on trailers and related equipment.
• Conduct brake, tire, lighting, FHWA, and DOT inspections.
• Diagnose and repair compressed air, ABS, braking, and electrical systems.
• Replace airbags, wheel seals, bearings, brake components, and air valves.
• Perform welding and fabrication repairs.
• Repair or replace floors, crossmembers, roof sections, side panels, doors, hinges, and ICC bumpers.
• Test repaired equipment to verify proper operation.
• Accurately document repairs, inspections, services performed, and parts used.
• Communicate repair findings and recommendations clearly with customers and team members.
