Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is hiring a diesel technician to service and repair heavy trucks at one of its US locations. The role requires 5 years of Class 7/8 tech experience, valid CDL, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
  • Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets insurability guidelines.
  • Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, &/or ASE certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform general and detailed repair of trucks, engines and components.
  • Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
  • Install injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches, brakes, batteries, and transmissions.
  • Read job orders and plan work procedures.
  • Examine safety devices and make adjustments as needed.
  • Lubricate moving parts and test drive to verify conformance.
  • Tag warranty parts and returns to warranty clerk.
  • Attend training classes and keep up with factory bulletins.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers.
