Job summary

Rush Truck Centers, the largest network of commercial vehicle dealerships in North America, seeks a skilled technician. Overhaul gas/diesel engines, service trucks, and perform complex repairs across engines and drivetrains.

You will read orders, assess issues, and plan procedures to restore performance. Applicants need a high school diploma or GED, 5 years as a Class 7/8 technician, a valid driver’s license, and certifications like ASE or OEM brands are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Must possess a current and valid driver license with insurability guidelines.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, and/or ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.
• Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Install major engine/drivetrain components.
• Read job order, observe and listen to vehicle in operation to determine malfunction and plan procedures.
• Examine guards, bolts, and safety devices and adjust as needed.
• Lubricate moving parts and drive repaired vehicle to verify conformance to specifications.
• Tag warranty parts and returns to warranty clerk.
• Attend training classes and keep up with factory bulletins.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase satisfaction.
