Job summary

Ryder Supply Chain Solutions in Orangeburg, SC seeks a Diesel Technician Trainee. You will train on-site to become a Ryder Diesel Mechanic Technician with paid training, weekly pay, and full benefits.

Position offers on-site work, first shift hours, and opportunities for certification bonuses, quarterly bonuses, and tuition repayment. Veterans and new entrants are welcome; comprehensive benefits begin after 30 days.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Zero to one year mechanical experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Proficiency in English written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Strong technical aptitude with ability to learn to use and maintain equipment and machinery.
• Ability to troubleshoot quickly; work independently and as part of a team.
• Licensed or able to obtain CDL within 6 months (preferred).
• DOT safety regulated position; safety sensitive.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles into or out of yard, wash bay, service shop, or rental shop.
• Wash and detail vehicles; fuel diesel, natural gas, and hybrid vehicles properly.
• Record fuel activity and maintain inventories and reconciliation.
• Perform multi-point inspection on inbound units and report issues.
• Maintain fuel island area to Six Sigma standards; perform facility maintenance.
• Attend and complete Technician Training Development Program requirements.
• Perform Preventive Maintenance, Tire and Wheel, and Service Bay Tool tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
