Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Diesel Technician Trainee in Springfield, MO. You will receive on-the-job paid training to become a Ryder Diesel Mechanic Technician, with a schedule Monday–Friday and weekends off. The role offers paid training, pay increases through the trainee program, and comprehensive benefits after 30 days.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, strong English communication, and a basic mechanical aptitude. CDL Class A is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Zero to one year mechanical experience preferred.
• Proficiency in English written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Strong technical aptitude with ability to learn to use and maintain equipment.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles into or out of yard, wash bay, service shop, or delivered to rental shop.
• Perform multi-point inspection on inbound units as required by company policies and procedures; check tire pressure, fluids, lights.
