Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Technician Trainee in Forest Park, Georgia, offering on-the-job paid training and weekly pay. The role includes learning to service heavy-duty vehicles, with a second shift 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm, Tue–Sat, and a pay rate of $25.36/hour.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Zero to one year mechanical experience with diesel engines preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Proficiency in English written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Strong technical aptitude with ability to learn to use and maintain equipment and machinery.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
• Work independently and as a member of a team.
• Represent Ryder professionally to customers and employees.
• Strong time management and priority setting skills.
• Proven track record of performance and good attendance.
• Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles into/out of yard, wash bay, service shop, or delivery to rental shop and fuel vehicles properly while following safety policies.
• Perform multi-point inspections on inbound units per company policies; check tires, fluids, lights, windows, and report issues.
• Maintain fuel island area and perform minor maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Attend and complete Technician Training Development Program requirements (hands-on and online).
• Follow 6S standards for organization and cleanliness in the service area.
• Support preventive maintenance tasks like tire and wheel servicing, and equipment inspections.
