Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Austin, TX is hiring a Diesel Technician Trainee. You will be paid while training to become a Ryder Diesel Mechanic Technician, with a Monday–Friday schedule and first shift hours 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.

No experience required; on-the-job paid training; eligible for tool reimbursement; medical, dental, vision after 30 days; PTO from day one; 401(k) match; safety‑driven shop with state‑of‑the‑art equipment; competitive progression and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn diesel maintenance basics.
• Proficiency in English written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrated customer service skills and time management.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles as directed and perform fueling and washing.
• Conduct multi-point inspections and report issues to the shop.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and training program requirements.
