Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Diesel Tech Trainee in Texarkana, AR. You will train on heavy‑duty vehicles with on‑the‑job paid instruction and weekly pay. No experience required, with strong benefits after 30 days and a clear path to certification.

Shifts are second, with a Monday–Friday schedule and weekends off. You’ll gain hands‑on experience, PPE support, and advancement opportunities in a safety‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Zero to one year mechanical experience with diesel engines preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older and have proficient English.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Strong technical aptitude; ability to learn equipment and machinery.
• Ability to troubleshoot and work independently or in a team.
• Beginner knowledge of machines/tools and shop systems preferred.
• Possession of CDL Class A preferred; DOT safety requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles in yard or shop; fuel and detail as required.
• Perform multi-point inspections and report issues to shop.
• Maintain fuel island area and assist with facility tasks.
• Complete Technician Training Development Program requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
