Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Diesel Technician Trainee in Lakeland, FL, offering paid on-the-job training and a clear path to advancement. No experience is required, and you will gain hands-on skills while working with state-of-the-art diagnostics and tools.

Hours are 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm, Monday–Friday, with weekends off. Benefits include medical, dental, vision after 30 days, PTO from day 1, 401(k) match, and tuition repayment up to $5,000; a strong emphasis on safety and professional growth.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Zero to one year mechanical experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Proficiency in English written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to learn on the job.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles into/out of yard, wash bay or service shop and perform fueling and basic maintenance.
• Perform multi-point inspections and report issues to shop.
• Maintain fuel island area and assist with facility maintenance.
• Attend and complete Technician Training Development Program requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
