Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Lakeland, FL is seeking a Diesel Technician Trainee to start a career in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance. You will receive on-the-job training with weekly pay and a path to certification, along with company benefits and incentive programs.

No experience required, shift is 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm, Monday–Friday. Earn while you learn with pay increases as you progress through the trainee program and opportunities for tuition repayment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Zero to one year mechanical experience with diesel engines preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older and proficient in English.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn equipment.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles into/out of yard and service areas.
• Perform multi-point inspections and report issues to shop.
• Maintain fuel island area and assist with basic facility maintenance.
• Complete Technician Training Development Program requirements.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
