Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Huntington, WV to service heavy-duty vehicles. You will perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs, using state-of-the-art diagnostics and tools.

This role includes a competitive hourly wage, bonus opportunities, and comprehensive benefits. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with vocational certification preferred, and may offer CDL A consideration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
• Two years or more of classroom training and work experience in required experience, preferred.
• CDL Class A, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable.
• Identifies root cause of basic failures and performs repairs as required.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of the issue.
