Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Toledo, Ohio, with weekly pay and strong benefits. The role offers a second shift (3:00 pm–11:30 pm) and a robust sign-on package with quarterly bonuses to recognize expertise.

You will perform vehicle maintenance and repair on heavy-duty trucks, diagnose mechanical and electronic faults, and conduct preventive maintenance while communicating with drivers to clarify issues and ensure safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical post-secondary certification preferred.
• Basic tools are required.
• Two years or more of related training/experience preferred.
• CDL Class A license preferred; ability to obtain CDL within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties on heavy-duty vehicles.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems and uses diagnostics when applicable.
• Performs preventive maintenance and essential component replacements.
• Interacts with drivers to determine nature of the complaint and completes tasks.
