Position Summary

This diesel technician/mechanic position at Penske focuses on providing top service to customers with roadside assistance needs. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing various maintenance issues on trucks in all weather conditions safely on the roadside.

Major Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to roadside calls, identify parts needing replacement, and document repairs.
• Perform diagnostics and quick repairs outside of roadside assistance as needed.
• Restock the roadside assistance vehicle with necessary tools and parts.
• Maintain or repair the roadside assistance vehicle as required.
• Assist with in-shop repairs when not on roadside calls.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of tractor trailer maintenance experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Vocational/Technical certification preferred
• Proficiency with shop tools
• Basic computer skills for maintenance systems
• Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions
• Compliance with safety, DOT, OSHA regulations
• Willingness to travel within the district

Physical Requirements

• Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, sitting
• Use of hands for tools and controls
• Work at heights and in all weather conditions
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally

Salary and Shift Differentials

$24.75 - $31.06 hourly, negotiable. Additional shift premiums apply for second and third shifts.
