Job summary

NFI Industries is seeking skilled diesel technicians in Virginia to maintain and repair our dedicated fleet. You’ll diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure DOT compliance while working on a reliable, well‑maintained fleet.

Qualifications

  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Preferred ability to obtain a Class B license.
  • Technical or advanced degree or 2+ years of equivalent maintenance experience.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting equipment repairs and maintenance with diagnostic tools such as JPRO, OEM Diagnostic Software, Multimeters, and Windows.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and teamwork capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical tractor and trailer issues using standard testing procedures and diagnostic tools.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on tractors and trailers.
  • Perform DOT inspections per FMCSA guidelines.
  • Be physically capable to lift 75 lbs or more and maintain flexible movement to reach equipment.

Pay Range: 32.00-38.00 per_hour, General Benefits: Employees are also eligible for a comprehensive benefits program, which includes medical, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage, a 401(k) plan, a wellness program, life insurance, paid time off, and paid parental leave, among other benefit plan options.

Under the Hood: What It Takes to Join NFI

NFI diesel technician expectations and responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical tractor and trailer‑related issues using standard testing procedures and computer diagnostic equipment such as JPRO, OEM Diagnostic Software, Multimeters, and Windows
  • Perform preventive maintenance on our fleet of tractors & trailers
  • Perform DOT inspection per FMSCA guidelines
  • Physically capable to perform all job duties, which include being able to lift and/or pull 75 lbs or more without restriction, stand or lie for extended periods, and have flexible movement to reach equipment.
