Job description

Krapf Bus is seeking a Diesel Technician for its Flemington, NJ shop.

SUMMARY:

Perform basic and preventive maintenance on school and company vehicles in a field environment, following the company's Maintenance Excellence Program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow safety procedures to minimize hazards
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, including oil changes, fluid checks, tire and belt inspections, brake system servicing, lighting repairs, and safety system checks
• Assist with state vehicle inspections
• Complete required documentation daily
• Assist with snow and ice removal as needed
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Lead Technician

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Basic mechanical skills and understanding of vehicle systems, including electrical
• Ability to follow directions effectively
• Self-motivated with good organizational skills
• Ability to work independently or under supervision
• Valid CDL and School Bus Endorsement or willingness to obtain
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. regularly and heavier objects with assistance
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and reach overhead
• Fine motor skills to operate hand tools and repair equipment
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach around vehicles
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
