Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Hartford, Connecticut — providing a stable company for your career with weekly pay and excellent benefits.

We offer a third shift (11:00 pm – 7:30 am) with Sunday–Thursday schedule, $32.50 per hour, and opportunities for quarterly bonuses and sign-on bonuses. PTO from day 1, 401(k) match, paid training, and veteran-friendly perks complete the package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of gas/diesel engines.
• Routine preventive maintenance including oil changes, brakes, and tires.
• Two years or more of combined training and experience preferred.
• Valid CDL A preferred; must obtain CDL within 6 months if hired.
• Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Identifies root causes and performs needed repairs.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to clarify the issue.
• Uses Shop Management System for documentation.
• Adheres to safety, DOT, MOT requirements.
• Provides additional support as needed.
