We are looking for a Diesel Technician III to join our team in Joliet. The Diesel Technician III will strive to meet or exceed goal times for repairs, work unsupervised for extended periods, and assist in training lower‑level technicians.
Schedule
Sunday night through Friday morning, 9 pm to 5:30 am.
Pay
Starting hourly rate $33–$35.
Sign‑on bonus: first payment of $500 after 90 days, second payment of $500 after 180 days, and $1,000 at one year.

Training & Experience
- Minimum of six (6) years practical experience or equivalent combination of related education and experience.
- Specialized training and/or experience in the overhaul of major components (e.g., Mack, Cummins, Detroit Diesel engines).
- Proficiency with all trade tools (welding equipment, power tools, shop machinery).
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to lift, push or pull up to at least 50 lbs.
- Good driving record with a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to drive automatic transmissions and use PTO.
- Superb communication skills (verbal and written).
Major Functions
- Diagnose, overhaul, adjust, and repair all series of truck and trailer equipment, including engines, transmissions, power dividers, starters/alternators, air conditioning systems, fan clutches, power steering systems, electrical, brake, cooling, clutches, PTO systems, tires, and engine electronics.
Working Conditions
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Exposure to used cooking oil odors.
Specific Duties
- Perform all levels of preventative maintenance.
- Identify and determine required parts for repair of disassembled units.
- Identify warrantable repairs and document appropriately.
- Maintain work area appearance and safety.
- Road‑test vehicles as necessary.
- Perform duties in a timely and efficient manner.
- Perform all duties of lower job classifications.
- Follow all safety rules and procedures.
- Fully participate and support all safety initiatives.
- Think safety and continually scan the work environment; suggest corrections and improvements.
- Other duties as assigned.
