Job summary

Penske in Indianapolis is seeking a Technician II to maintain and repair the fleet. You’ll perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, and complete required safety checks on a variety of equipment, often with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational/technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Specialized training in diagnosing/troubleshooting major components (engines, transmissions, differentials) and ASE/608/609 certifications preferred.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment, hand tools and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and ensuring vehicles are safe for customers.
• Performing preventive maintenance on truck and trailer equipment with minimal supervision.
• Repairing and troubleshooting engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers and fuel systems.
• Keeping work area clean and safe.
• Using Penske tools to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
• Learning new skills through Penske’s technician training.
• Working on additional projects as assigned by supervisor.
