Job summary

First Student, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Technician I in Harmony, PA to maintain and repair school buses for safety and reliability. This is a day-shift, full-time role with a competitive hourly wage and a comprehensive benefits package.

The position includes company-paid ASE testing, CDL Class B training, and opportunities for career advancement across 540+ locations in the U.S. & Canada. DOT safety standards apply, with holidays and vacation time provided.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of diesel or automotive maintenance and repair experience, or equivalent technical school education and experience.
• Vehicle diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license required.
• CDL Class B or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment; company-paid training provided.
• PA state inspection license or willingness to obtain.
• Possession of a mechanic’s tool set.
• Willingness to participate in ASE certification programs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair school buses to ensure safety and reliability.
• Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle maintenance including brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmissions.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
• Complete work orders accurately.
• Assist with mobile emergency repair services when needed.
