Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to service and repair trucks and engines. You"ll troubleshoot electrical systems, read repair orders, and perform detailed repairs on components and drivetrains.

A wide range of parts installation and preventive maintenance tasks are required, along with maintaining a safe workspace. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of diesel technician experience, own a tool set, and possess or are willing to complete diesel/ automotive certificate programs.

Qualifications

• Requires positive attitude and mechanical competence.
• Candidates with brand experience (Isuzu, Ford, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, CAT, Allison, Freightliner, Volvo, Mack, Kenworth, Peterbilt) encouraged to apply.
• 1–2 years minimum experience as a medium/heavy diesel technician.
• Must possess a full set of personal hand tools.
• Knowledge of commercial truck and engine repair preferred or gained via training.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service including troubleshooting, electrical and diagnostic work.
• Read Repair Orders and perform repairs on trucks, engines, and components.
• Install injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, bearings, gears and other parts.
• Check safety devices and guards on trucks and adjust as needed.
• Lubricate and road-test repaired vehicles to verify repairs.
• Advise Service staff if additional work is needed.
• Tag return warranty parts and maintain a safe work environment.
• Follow safety procedures and seek assistance when necessary.
• Assist with other projects as assigned.
