Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Diesel Technician to perform diagnostics, electrical and repair work on trucks and engines. You will read repair orders and perform general repairs on a range of components.

You must have 1–2 years of experience, own tools, a valid driver’s license, and completed diesel/ automotive certificate programs. We offer an industry-leading incentive pay plan, boot program, and CDL/ renewal cost coverage.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years minimum work experience as a Medium/Heavy Diesel Technician.
• Must possess a full set of personal hand tools.
• Must have completed diesel/ automotive certificate programs or equivalent hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service on vehicles and equipment including troubleshooting, electrical and diagnostic services.
• Read Repair Orders and be able to perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.
• Install major parts (injectors, pistons, bearings, cam shafts, cylinder heads, clutches, brakes) and replace transmissions and other parts.
• Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and adjust as needed.
• Lubricate moving parts and drive repaired vehicle to verify conformance to specifications and verification repairs.
• Advise the Service staff if additional repair work is necessary.
• Tag all return warranty parts.
• Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work environment and handle company tools properly.
• Follow safe work practices and procedures, use safety equipment when required, respond to suggestions for working safely and seek assistance when necessary.
• Other projects/initiatives as assigned
