Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Des Moines, IA, offering a stable career with weekly pay and excellent benefits. The role requires mechanical repair skills on gas or diesel engines, with a second shift from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm and a Monday–Friday schedule.

Earn $28.25 per hour with bonus opportunities, paid training, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, PTO from day one, a 401(k) match, and other employee perks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification, preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• Two (2) years or more of classroom training/experience in required experience, preferred.
• CDL CLASS A, preferred; must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
• Pass Ryder Drug Test, Pass DOT physical, Pass Ryder road test, Pass Ryder Background check for last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Identifies root cause of failures and performs repairs.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Performs facility maintenance duties.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint.
• Follows safety, DOT, MOT guidelines and uses Shop Management System.
