Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Perform standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers when applicable.
• Identify root causes of basic failures and perform required repairs.
• Replace defective components as instructed.
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints.

Compensation & Bonuses

• Hourly Pay: $28.25 per hour
• Certification Bonus: $100 per new ASE certification (up to $700)
• Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 each quarter (four times per year)
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
• Hours: Second Shift 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Vocational or technical certification, or post‑secondary degree (preferred)
• Basic tools, required
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work, required)
• Two (2) years or more of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred)
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
• Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass a Ryder drug test
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Some positions require additional screening (employment and education verification, vehicle records check, road test, or customer‑specific background requirements)

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
• Perform standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections
• Perform preventive maintenance
• Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems, using diagnostic computers when applicable
• Identify root causes of basic failures and perform required repairs
• Replace defective components as instructed
• Perform facility maintenance duties
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints once assigned a task
• Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation
• Work in accordance with federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
• Perform other support duties to support operations, such as Service Island support
