Job summary

Allegiance Trucks in Islip, NY is hiring a Diesel Technician to provide technical service on trucks and equipment. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair engines and components, install critical parts, and ensure repairs meet safety standards.

The role requires 1–2 years of diesel tech experience, a valid license, and a full set of personal tools. We offer competitive pay, medical/dental/vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) with company match. CDL or renewal cost support may be provided.

Qualifications

• Must have a positive attitude and mechanical aptitude.
• 1–2 years minimum work experience as a medium/heavy diesel technician.
• Valid driver’s license and a full set of personal hand tools.
• Complete diesel/automotive certificate programs or equivalent hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service on vehicles and equipment including troubleshooting, electrical and diagnostic services.
• Read Repair Orders and perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.
• Install injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches, bearings, fifth wheels, brakes, batteries, transmissions and other parts.
• Inspect safety devices and ensure repairs meet specifications.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and use company tools properly.
• Follow safe work practices and seek assistance when necessary.
