Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking a Technician to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on our well‑maintained fleet. You will help customers keep their vehicles on the road by using Penske’s diagnostic tools and performing basic vehicle maintenance.

Based in Lansing, MI, this role offers competitive starting pay, shift premiums, benefits, and strong technician training. You’ll work as part of a team and contribute to safety and reliability across the Penske fleet.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• 1–2 years automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and outside.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must understand and comply with Penske policies and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on Penske fleet vehicles.
• Log, research and complete repairs using Penske tools and technologies, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance and component lubrication, tire rotation, and basic electrical/cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engines.
• Learn new skills through Penske technician training and hands‑on coaching with your manager.
• Take part in other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
