Job summary

Penske is hiring a Technician in Florence, SC to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on our fleet. You’ll use Penske’s tools to log, diagnose and complete repairs, ensuring vehicles stay safe and road‑ready.

You’ll work with experienced supervisors, learn our maintenance processes and take part in Penske’s technician certification program, with comprehensive safety training and modern shop equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• 1-2 years automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to solve problems and use tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Must work well in a team and outdoors.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must comply with Penske safety policies and DOT/OSHA requirements.
• Willingness to undergo background checks, drug screen, and DOT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers.
• Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Performing preventative maintenance repairs such as tire rotation and lubrication on gas and diesel engines.
• Learning new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching.
• Taking on other projects as assigned by the supervisor.
