Job summary

Florida Power & Light Company in Pompano Beach, FL is seeking a Diesel Technician to maintain and repair medium- and heavy-duty trucks and equipment, ensuring safe operation for all customer segments. The role emphasizes diagnostics, preventive maintenance and teamwork within the Fleet Services Department.

Qualified applicants should have at least 3 certifications (one for T4 brakes) or a related degree/MOS, a valid Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement or be willing to obtain it within 12 months,

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• 2+ years of experience in diesel technology or related field.
• Three Medium/Heavy Duty truck ASE certifications with one for T4 brakes OR related degree/MOS.
• Valid Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement or ability to obtain within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Communicates and demonstrates safe working practices.
• Diagnoses faults using engine diagnostic equipment and calibrated devices.
• Performs maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment.
• Comprehends operating manuals, blueprints and technical drawings.
• Inspects parts for wear using micrometers and gauges.
• Orders parts and manages charges in FA system.
• Communicates with vendors and customers regarding status and needs.
• Meets attendance and storm duty requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
