Job summary

Dallas Trailer Repair Co. in Cypress, CA is seeking a Diesel Technician to perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on trucks and related equipment.

The role demands solid knowledge of mechanical tools, service equipment, and repair procedures, along with attention to detail and good communication. You will inspect and diagnose issues, perform repairs to manufacturer specs, conduct routine maintenance, and document actions in our software system.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of mechanical experience
• ASE certifications highly desired but not required
• Must pass pre-employment knowledge/skill test, background check, and drug/medical exam
• Proven mechanical aptitude and basic math skills
• Ability to read and write in English for documentation and communication
• Must have own tools and safety gear (steel-toed shoes, welding protection)
• Possesses a valid driver''s license (Mobile Technician)
• Must be insurable per company insurance requirements

Responsibilities

• Inspect, analyze, and diagnose vehicle, engine and related equipment for mechanical issues and faulty parts
• Perform repairs according to industry standards and manufacturer specifications
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicle and related equipment
• Have knowledge of heavy truck mechanical systems (e.g. transmission, electrical)
• Develop and document action plans for repairs; follow checklists and protocols
• Operate a mobile repair vehicle (if hiring for Mobile Technician)
• Safety operate a Yard Switcher to move trailers on yard and into shop
• Follow health and safety rules and guidelines
