Job summary

First Student in Memphis, TN is hiring a Diesel Technician to service school buses at our North Memphis shop on Farmville Rd. Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM start, full-time day shift.

You will maintain and repair buses to ensure safety and reliability for student transportation in our community. Qualifications

• 3+ years in diesel or automotive maintenance and repair, or equivalent technical school education.
• Vehicle diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• CDL Class B license or ability to obtain within 60 days (company-paid training).
• Possession of a mechanic's tool set for duties.
• Willingness to pursue ASE certification (training and bonuses provided).
• Strong computer skills.
• DOT drug testing is required for safety-sensitive employees.

Responsibilities

• Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our passengers.
• Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle maintenance including brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmissions, and clutches.
• Perform preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and annual inspections.
• Complete work orders accurately.
• Assist with mobile emergency repair services when needed.
