Job summary

Plastipak Packaging, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for our Jackson Center, Ohio location. You will maintain and repair Class A trucks and trailers, diagnose issues, and perform preventative maintenance to keep our fleet in top condition.

You will work a day shift, Mon-Fri, with start times between 5:00 and 6:00 AM, ensuring safety standards and efficient operations. A tool allowance and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience on heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and diesel engine problems.
• Basic welding skills (MIG, Oxy/Acetylene) for fabrication and bodywork.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on Class A trucks and trailers.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and complete repairs; rebuild equipment as needed.
• Inspect work for safety and compliance with federal/state codes and company standards.
• Make offsite service calls when required.
• Open and close maintenance garage according to shift schedule.
