Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Indianapolis, IN is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician to perform vehicle maintenance and repair on heavy duty equipment. The role offers a second-shift schedule (Tue–Sat) with competitive hourly pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
• Two years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience preferred.
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic tools.
• Identifies root cause and performs repairs as required.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of the complaint.
• Maintains documentation and uses shop management system.
• Works in compliance with safety, DOT, and company guidelines.
