Job summary

Casella Waste is seeking a Diesel Technician to maintain diesel equipment, perform inspections, and complete preventive maintenance to ensure safety and customer service standards. The Technician will follow safety policies, handle diagnostic testing, and keep thorough records of all work performed.

Opportunity for advancement through the Career Pathways program; starting pay ranges from $25 to $35 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 18+ years old; valid driver’s license; able to work in various weather conditions.
• 1 year of experience inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing trucks and stationary equipment; strong customer service mindset.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks: lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, standing, walking, grasping.

Responsibilities

• Perform diesel equipment maintenance and inspections in line with safety policies.
• Correct vehicle deficiencies and execute adjustments and alignments as needed.
• Maintain records of work and procedures; run diagnostic tests and test drives to identify issues.
• Carry out lockout/tagout procedures accurately.
• Work in varied conditions; repair equipment and vehicles efficiently and safely.
• Participate in training and career development opportunities.
