Job summary

Republic Services in the United States invites aspiring Technicians to join a two-year Technician Apprenticeship that combines paid, hands-on training with classroom instruction. Starting with nine weeks of paid training at the Republic Services Technical Institute in Dallas, TX, then twenty-two months of on-the-job training toward Apprentice certification as a Diesel Technician.

Qualifications

• Two-year Technician Apprenticeship program to train entry-level technician.
• Commitment to completing this two-year program.
• Willingness to travel and live in Dallas, TX for 9 weeks of in-person training.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including some nights/weekends/holidays.
• Safety, ethics and respect aligned with Republic Services values.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks.
• Gain knowledge in electrical diagnosis, air systems, hydraulics, wheel end and brakes components.
• Complete on-the-job training with mentorship toward Apprentice certification.
• Collaborate with teams across Republic Services’ 180 business units.
