Job summary

Republic Services seeks entry-level Technician Apprentices to train over two years in diesel and non-diesel fleet maintenance. The program combines nine weeks of in-class training in Dallas, Texas, followed by twenty-two months of on-the-job training at a local facility, with mentorship and progress milestones.

Apprentices will learn electrical, brakes, hydraulics, air systems, wheel ends, and preventative maintenance while earning a paycheck and gaining a clear path to a full-time Technician

Qualifications

• Must commit to completing the two-year Technician Apprenticeship program.
• Ability to work flexible hours including some nights/weekends/holidays.
• Willingness to travel to and live in Dallas, Texas for 9 weeks of in-person training.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks.
• Learn electrical diagnosis of starting and charging systems, air systems, hydraulics, brakes, and wheel ends.
• Participate in on-the-job training and mentorship to advance to Level C Technician.
• Work under supervision of Fleet Maintenance Supervisors or Managers at Republic Services facilities.
• Contribute to safety, ethics and value standards while building professional networks.
