Job summary

Republic Services in Savannah, GA is seeking entry-level Technician Apprentices to join a 2-year paid program, training on diesel and non-diesel equipment. You will learn electrical diagnostics, air conditioning, hydraulics, wheel ends, brakes, and preventive maintenance while earning certification.

During the apprenticeship, you’ll spend 9 weeks in Dallas, TX for initial training, followed by 22 months of hands-on work with mentorship and on-the-job learning across Republic’s nationwide units.

Qualifications

• Two-year paid apprenticeship to become certified technician.
• 9 weeks of company-paid training at Republic Services Technical Institute in Dallas, TX.
• 22 months of on-the-job training toward Apprentice certification.
• Mentor-supported progression to Level C Technician.
• Willingness to travel to Dallas for in-person training and live there for training.

Responsibilities

• Complete company-paid training at Republic Services Technical Institute.
• Gain hands-on experience in electrical, hydraulics, brakes, wheel end components, and preventive maintenance.
• Work under supervision of a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
• Progress through milestones toward Apprentice certification and potential Level C advancement.
