Job summary

Hunter Truck is hiring an Experienced Diesel Mechanic Technician for the Afternoon Shift in Pittsburgh, PA. The role entails diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment with a focus on safety and quality.

Advanced and expert-level duties include electrical and A/C work, engine/driveline overhauls, and mentoring junior technicians. Position offers a sign-on bonus up to $5,000 for Expert and Master levels, with a 3:30 PM–12:00 AM schedule and a 2nd shift pay

Qualifications

• Vocational/technical school graduate with a minimum of three (3) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Must have experience in engine and driveline troubleshooting.
• Must have experience in electrical repair and air conditioning systems.
• Must have component overhaul experience and/or specialty (A/C or electrical) experience.
• Must be able to obtain passing grade during Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and/or vendor training
• Must have good supply of most hand tools to complete most repairs

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
• Perform minor to advanced repairs as outlined on the repair order.
• Assist other technicians on major repairs.
• Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Save and tag warranty or customer-requested parts.
• Examine vehicles for additional safety or service needs.
• Document all work performed and recommended, including warranty information.
• Road test vehicles as required or refer to test technician
• Keep work area, service truck, and customer vehicles clean and organized
• Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor
• Stay current on manufacturer technical bulletins
• Follow all federal, state, and local regulations, and adhere to Hunter Truck safety policies
