Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Lenexa, Kansas is seeking a Mid-Level Diesel Technician to service heavy‑duty vehicles on the second shift (2:30 pm – 11:00 pm).

Base pay is $31.50 per hour with a certification bonus and quarterly incentives. The role includes health benefits after 30 days, PTO from day one, 401(k) match, tuition repayment, and opportunities for career progression with a safety‑first workplace.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
• Two years or more training/experience preferred.
• CDL class A preferred; must obtain CDL within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance tasks.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Identifies root cause and performs repairs as needed.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of the issue.
• Adheres to safety, DOT, MOT guidelines.
