Job description

DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

Completes troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop independently while coaching and developing less experienced technicians. We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Sumner, WA). You will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
  • Maintain own tools

RESPONSIBILITIES

(Advanced):

  • Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools
  • Larger more complicated engine rebuilds
  • Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation

QUALIFICATIONS

Advanced diagnostics such as electrical and fuel systems, overhaul and internal engine repair experience, safety oriented, teamwork and collaboration skills, as well as leadership qualities to help mentor less experienced technicians.

DOT

  • This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This role will be subject to ongoing random drug and alcohol testing.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
  • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
  • Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products. Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred).

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
