Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Newnan, Georgia.

• Hourly Pay: $31.96
• Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: Ryder Pays you up to $500 Every Quarter - Four Times Per Year
• Sign On Bonus: Ryder Pays You $1750 at 30 days and $1750 at 90 days
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF
• Hours: Second Shift 3:30 pm – 12:00 am

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or Technical Certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
• Basic tools required
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
• Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
• Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems
• Three (3) or more years of relevant work experience preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred
• All other certifications required by location

• Additional Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years experience with heavy and medium-duty equipment repairs and diagnostics
• Knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.

• This position requires driving Ryder vehicles. To become a Ryder employee, you must:
• Obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
• Pass Ryder Drug Test, DOT physical, and road test
• Pass background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from last 3 years

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs, including:
• Standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance
• Diagnose complex mechanical/electronic problems using diagnostic computers
• Complete detailed inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
• Replace defective components as instructed
• Work independently on most tasks
• Perform facility maintenance duties
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine issues
• Utilize shop management and electronic documentation systems
• Follow all safety, DOT, and corporate compliance guidelines
• Mentor Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
• Access and use maintenance documents
• Support operations as needed, including Service Island support
• Complete SBT220 training within 180 days
• Complete OEM diagnostic software courses as required by fleet
