Ready to move your career forward? As a Technician at Penske, you’ll perform preventative maintenance and repairs of all levels on the newest and best maintained fleet of vehicles in the industry. You will help our customers keep their vehicles in shape and on the road.

As a Technician II at Penske, you are a respected technician. You are trusted to work independently on major and minor repairs, perform road tests to diagnose problems, and complete maintenance tasks. You set an example and informally mentor new technicians while continuing to grow your skills and learn from experienced techs and your manager.

This position is based at 12 St Johns Circle, Newnan, GA 30263. The shift will be determined later. It offers great opportunities for growth.

Main Responsibilities

1. Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
2. Perform preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers with minimal supervision.
3. Repair and troubleshoot components like engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, and fuel systems.
4. Maintain a clean and safe work area.
5. Use Penske’s tools and technologies for diagnostics and repairs.
6. Participate in technician training programs.
7. Assist with other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of practical vehicle maintenance experience
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational/technical certification preferred
• Experience with diagnosing major components; OEM training, ASE, and 608/609 certifications are a plus
• Proficient with diagnostic and hand tools
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong problem-solving and customer service skills
• Team player with good communication skills
• Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to follow safety policies and regulations, including DOT and OSHA standards
• Must maintain a current driver qualification file, including MVR, DOT physical, and safety records
• Willingness to travel within the district and work the required schedule

Physical Requirements

• Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting
• Use of hands for routine tasks
• Ability to work safely at heights and in all weather conditions
• Ability to see and hear to navigate the work environment safely
• Lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
