Job Requirements:
  1. Use handtools, such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, or precision instruments, as well as power tools, such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, or jacks and hoists.
  2. Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure proper operation.
  3. Raise trucks, buses, and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists.
  4. Adjust and reline brakes, align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment.
  5. Attach test instruments to equipment, read dials and gauges to diagnose malfunctions.
  6. Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
  7. Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications.
  8. Diagnose and repair vehicle heating and cooling systems.
  9. Disassemble and overhaul internal combustion engines, pumps, generators, transmissions, clutches, and differential units.
  10. Specialize in repairing and maintaining parts of the engine, such as fuel injection systems.
Other Experience and Qualifications:
  • Experience working with medium- or heavy-duty trucks.
  • Basic computer skills, including diagnostic software.
  • Proficiency with power and hand tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and an organized workspace.
  • Excellent communication skills for documenting and relaying repair findings.

Preferred Qualifications include 12+ years of experience, certifications for Detroit or Cummins engines, CDL license (preferred but not required), ability to lift 50+ lbs., and experience with engine overhauls.
