Job summary

An interstate trucking company in Jeffersonville, Indiana is seeking a Diesel Tech to perform maintenance and repair tasks on trucks. The ideal candidate will have excellent mechanical skills, a high school diploma, and the ability to follow instructions. This full-time position offers pay between $24 and $28 per hour based on experience, with no weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs such as tune-ups and oil changes.
• Assists mechanic with electrical systems.
• Cleans the shop and returns tools to proper location.
• Maintains inventory of replacement parts and equipment.
• Inspects tools and equipment to ensure they are in working order.
• Updates maintenance and repair logs for vehicles.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs such as tune-ups and oil changes, checks tires and brakes, replaces spark plugs and engages in other similar tasks.
• Assists mechanic with electrical systems such as replacing batteries, starters, and lights.
• Cleans the shop and returns tools to proper location.
• Maintains inventory of replacement parts and equipment.
• Inspects tools and equipment to ensure they are in working order.
• Updates maintenance and repair logs for vehicles.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
