McGrath Dodge in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel-powered trucks and vehicles. You will work on diesel engines, fuel systems, emissions, electrical, drivetrain, and mechanical systems within a busy dealership service team.

This is a great opportunity for a technician with experience in diesel repair, diagnostics, heavy-duty truck repair, or fleet maintenance, with Ram and Cummins engines a strong plus.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Diesel Technician or Heavy-Duty Technician in a professional shop.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and related systems.
• Cummins and Ram diesel experience is a plus.
• Strong diagnostic, electrical, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel-powered trucks and vehicles.
• Perform diesel engine, fuel system, emissions, electrical, drivetrain, and mechanical repairs.
• Diagnose drivability concerns using manufacturer diagnostic equipment and procedures.
• Complete preventative maintenance and recommended services.
• Inspect vehicles and identify additional maintenance or repair needs.
• Communicate findings and repair recommendations with Service Advisors.
• Complete repairs according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate repair documentation and service records.

About the Opportunity

McGrath Dodge is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to join our Cedar Rapids service team. We're looking for a skilled technician who is confident diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel trucks and wants to continue developing their career in a busy dealership environment.

This is a great opportunity for a technician with experience in diesel repair, diesel diagnostics, heavy-duty truck repair, automotive repair, or fleet maintenance. Experience working with Ram trucks and Cummins diesel engines is a strong plus.

Requirements

• Previous professional experience as a Diesel Technician, Diesel Mechanic, Automotive Technician, or Heavy-Duty Technician
• Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and related systems
• Cummins and Ram diesel experience preferred
• Strong diagnostic, electrical, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of diesel fuel, emissions, cooling, drivetrain, and electrical systems
• Ability to perform repairs accurately and efficiently while maintaining quality standards
• Self-motivated and able to work independently while contributing to a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Diesel or manufacturer certifications are a plus
