Job Summary: Completes diagnostics, repairs, and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under limited supervision.

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our distribution business in Boise, ID. You will make an impact by:

  • Completing repairs on engine products in a service shop
  • Performing maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
  • Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles
  • Adhering to Cummins health, safety, and environmental policies
  • Engaging in ongoing development and certifications on new and existing Cummins products
  • Maintaining your own tools
Responsibilities

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • To complete complex internal engine repairs
  • To perform engine overhauls unassisted
  • A detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
  • Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software
Qualifications

Must have 1-2 years of experience working with mid-range and/or heavy-duty engines. The site is very safety-oriented, and candidates are expected to follow regulations. Small engine experience is preferred, as ONAN is owned by Cummins Inc., and we work on several generators at this location as well.

Additional requirements include:

  • A CDL may be required upon hire
  • A current valid license is required
  • A 5-year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
  • Passing a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
  • At least 3 years of driving experience
  • Compliance with DOT driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years old
  • Subject to drug and alcohol testing as per federal regulations
Education, Licenses, Certifications

Preferred: Apprentice Trained Engine Technician, Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution, and a locally valid driving permit.

Experience

Intermediate knowledge of and experience with engine products.

Additional Information

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
