Position Summary
As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our fleet of predominantly PACCAR engines and Peterbilt/Kenworth trucks. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in all aspects of diesel engine repair and possess excellent problem-solving skills.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic issues in PACCAR diesel engines and Peterbilt/ Kenworth chassis.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance services, including oil changes, filter replacements, DOT inspections, brake replacements, etc.
- Utilize troubleshooting trees/schematics to identify failures and document steps taken that resulted in the repair completed.
- Conduct comprehensive inspections to assess the condition of engines and recommend necessary repairs.
- Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
- Maintain detailed records of services performed, parts used, and time spent on each job.
- Stay up to date with the latest PACCAR diagnostic tools, software updates, and repair techniques.
- Comply with all safety guidelines and regulations.
- Other duties, as assigned.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel technician, preferably with PACCAR engines.
- Strong understanding of diesel engine mechanics and electronic systems.
- Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and equipment, preferably Davie4
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred
